Tom Ball, formerly with Morrow Sodali, has has been hired by rival Alliance Advisors, where he will be a senior vice president. Ball left Morrow Sodali in July 2019.
Based in Bloomfield, New Jersey, Alliance provides proxy solicitation and corporate governance services to over 450 corporations worldwide.
“Tom, an industry colleague and friend for years, will bring excellent interpersonal skills to our team and develop real-world strategies to meet the needs of our clients. I’m very pleased to have him join our team,” said Peter Casey, executive vice president and head of Alliance’s M&A group, in a statement.
“Alliance has a tremendous reputation for providing personalized, client-focused solutions,” Ball added. “I am very excited to join a firm with a deep bench of industry veterans with such diverse skills and I look forward to working with them to continue providing world-class service and advice to our clients.”
The move is the latest in a series of reshuffles in the proxy solicitation space. Earlier in the year, Paul Schulman left MacKenzie Partners to become co-head of Morrow Sodali’s U.S. M&A and activism team, while David Whissel left MacKenzie this week for Spotlight Advisors, which guides companies and activists through proxy fights.
